1 MINUTE SUMMARY

Currently Wordle is the internet’s hottest game with a whole bunch of site recommending different strategies.

Here’s my strategy to win within a minute.

Put the words

BRAKE
DYING
CLOTS

In any order and u should get enough hints to solve the Wordle.

If you still can’t figure out by the 3rd word add the final word

WHUMP

The final word guarantees at least 1 perfectly matched 🟩 or 2 🟨 🟨

THE METHOD (How it works)

Maths & algorithms!

Instead of humanly trying to brainstorm the next sequence of letters that fit. This method throws 5/10/15/20 characters that does not reoccur in the previous words and the characters are optimally placed where they occur 🟩 the most, eg (E, G, S are usually word enders, A,I,O are mid word).

Q & U are least used and logically goes together so u don’t need to “use” them to know when u need them.

The 4th word (WHUMP) is one of 2 words (of 12400+ 5 letter words) that does not “hit” any of the words above and thus useful as a final hint buster.

THE MATH!

Data driven approach to finding the best words.

I’ve pull 12400+ scrabble legal 5 letter words and used the formula i devised, in google sheet.

We need some metrics to determine which words scores the best.

So setting up the point system of X / 100

🟩 = 20 points

🟨 = 10 points

⬜️ = 0 points

Next build out scoring for every single word.

And next, create a pivot table to see how many words fall in each group.

As a final tweaker 3 more metrics to tune the words, the higher the “Total scores” the more words get easier to guess.

FINAL THOUGHTS

The game is great fun and with some strategy it’s possible to win it most of the time without using much brain power and in a minute.
